'Monsters Vs. Aliens' is, in some ways, a movie about other movies. The creators are proud of the fact that they watched literally hundreds of old monster and alien movies as they developed the characters and plot points of this great animated adventure. USA Today posted an interesting (although brief and incomplete) article listing some of the more obvious pop culture references that can be found in 'Monsters.'
